About Me

Hello, my name is Udeni Abeysekera! I have been teaching Montessori for the past 34 years because I am truly passionate about creating positive influences on your little "buds" physically, emotionally, socially, and academically. The first five years of a child's life are their most transformative, so I wholeheartedly believe that my guidance through the Montessori method provides life-long tools for creative and intellectual success to blossom.

After moving to the United States from Sri Lanka in 2000, my husband, daughter, son, and I have been living in Orange County. Through our own philosophies and Montessori methodologies, we have nurtured a loving and kind home that is the perfect environment to foster personalized growth and holistic wellness.

My Experience

I earned my Diploma in Montessori Method of Education in 1986 and started teaching at the Shinnyo-en Lanka Free Nursery School, which was managed by a Japanese program in Sri Lanka. During my time at Shinnyo-en, I was able to travel to Japan and learn their early childhood education philosophies first-hand. While teaching in Japan,

I was touched by the beauty of the Cherry Blossom trees and was inspired to name my home Montessori after this wonderful experience.  From 2000 to 2003, I worked as a Lead Teacher at Lake Forest Montessori School in the United States, and from 2003 to 2019, I worked at Fulbright Montessori Academy as a Lead Teacher also in Southern California. With much appreciation from my experiences at these unique institutions, I have decided to establish my own home Montessori in order to work more individually and personally with each child that I have the privilege to work with.
